Privacy Policy

How VE Solar collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy describes how VE Solar ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information you provide when you use any VE Solar mobile application or website. It applies equally to customers, salesmen, and service points in the VE Solar network.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your role, we may collect the following:

  • Account details — name, mobile number, email (where provided), password (stored as a salted hash, never in clear text), and date of birth/gender where required.
  • Location data — service address (city, district, state, pincode); for salesmen, GPS coordinates captured at the time of a customer site visit to validate on-site lead submission.
  • Identity (KYC) — Aadhaar number, PAN number, and electricity-bill image submitted as part of lead capture or service-point onboarding. KYC fields are required only for parties to a financial transaction (salesmen, service points, lead customers).
  • Financial information — UPI ID, UPI-linked mobile, or bank account / IFSC for payout-eligible users (salesmen and service points). For customers placing product orders: delivery address and Cash-on-Delivery is the default; no card or UPI data is collected by us for ordering.
  • Order and service history — products purchased, services requested, leads submitted, commissions earned, withdrawals requested.
  • Device information — device model, OS version, push-notification token (used solely to deliver app notifications), and basic analytics (app open, crash reports) used to maintain the service.
  • Communications — messages and broadcasts sent through the in-app chat or notification system.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and operate the Services — including signing you in, fulfilling orders and service requests, tracking leads, computing commissions, and processing withdrawals.
  • Verify identity and prevent fraud — KYC documents are used to confirm the identity of the parties to a solar installation or service contract.
  • Send transactional notifications — order status, service assignments, lead approvals, withdrawal status, and other operational alerts (via push notifications, SMS where applicable).
  • Improve the Services — diagnose bugs, measure feature adoption, and refine the user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations — respond to law-enforcement requests, comply with tax-deduction-at-source requirements, and retain records as required by law.

4. What we do NOT do with your information

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
  • We do not display third-party advertising inside the Services.
  • We do not share your KYC documents (Aadhaar, PAN, bill images) with anyone outside VE Solar and the strictly limited operational personnel necessary to process your solar installation or service.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share information only with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary:

  • Cloud infrastructure providers (e.g. Supabase for database + storage, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications) operating under industry-standard data-processing agreements.
  • Logistics and shipping partners who require the delivery address to fulfil customer product orders.
  • Banks and payment-processing partners that disburse withdrawals to UPI / bank accounts.
  • Government authorities or law-enforcement agencies, when required by valid legal process.

6. Where your data is stored

Application data (account, leads, orders, wallets) is stored on managed cloud servers in the Asia-Pacific region. KYC images and bill uploads are stored in object storage with private access controls; only authenticated parties to the transaction (the submitting salesman, their service point, and authorised HQ staff) can retrieve them.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. After that period, data is either deleted or anonymised.

You may request deletion of your account at any time via the in-app "Delete my account" action (Profile screen) or by writing to ve.solarr@gmail.com. Note that records related to completed financial transactions (orders, commissions, withdrawals) must be retained for the period required by Indian tax law even after account deletion.

8. Your rights

  • Access — you can view your profile and order history from inside the app at any time.
  • Correction — you can edit your payout details directly. To correct your name, mobile, or other identity fields, contact your service point (for salesmen) or write to support.
  • Deletion — request deactivation via the in-app action or by writing to support.
  • Withdrawal of consent — you may revoke notification permission from your phone's system settings at any time.
  • Grievance — for any privacy concern, contact our Grievance Officer at ve.solarr@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We take reasonable physical, technical, and administrative measures to protect your information — including TLS encryption for all data in transit, salted password hashing, row-level access controls in the database, and signed time-limited URLs for sensitive file downloads. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

10. Children

The Services are not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please write to ve.solarr@gmail.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services evolve or as required by law. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice. The "Effective" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.
