Who is eligible for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana?
Indian residents who own or legally occupy a house with rooftop space, have a valid domestic electricity connection, and have not availed any other solar subsidy. The rooftop must be technically feasible for solar installation.
How much subsidy will I get?
Central subsidy: ₹30,000 for up to 1 kW, ₹60,000 for up to 2 kW, ₹78,000 (capped) for 3 kW and above. On top of that, Chhattisgarh adds a ₹30,000 state subsidy — so a 3 kW+ home gets up to ₹1,08,000 in total. Systems above 3 kW receive no additional central subsidy.
Do I have to pay everything upfront?
No. The subsidy reduces what you pay directly. Collateral-free loans from public sector banks are available at concessional rates to cover the rest, with easy EMI options.
How does the application process work?
Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your electricity consumer number, then we handle the DISCOM coordination, installation, net-meter setup, and subsidy follow-up. The full cycle takes 30–60 days typically.
What documents do I need?
Aadhaar card, latest electricity bill, property ownership proof (or lease + NOC), bank passbook or cheque for the subsidy transfer, and a clear rooftop photograph.
What about net metering?
Net metering credits the surplus power your system generates back to your account. You only pay for net consumption at the end of the month — and on good months, your provider pays you.
